Pyrless Great Pyrenees
About Us

THE PRESENT

Pyrless Great Pyrenees
In 1993, we moved to our present home on 5 acres, and doubled our kennel space. After several years of tight line-breeding, outcrosses have been introduced to provide for some genetic variation without losing the Pyrless "look". However, the dogs presently in the kennel are for the most part descended from Gambit, Vera and Melissa. CH. WANDER BOY OF MAYU DREAMER JP came to us from Japan as a puppy. Wander's sire is one of 5 Pyrless dogs exported to Japan. In 2007, Antonio Pyristamo arrived from Poland. He is the son of our own International Champion Pyrless Beautiful Dreamer and Ussel de la Borda D’Urtx from Spain. Tonio represents a new genetic blend for us.

While keeping the standard of the breed in mind, we have tried to maintain the size, bone and head of the traditional Great Pyrenees. By the end of 2012, we had bred 64 litters, 66 American Champions including 9 GPCA Hall of Fame Show Dogs, 3 GPCA Hall of Fame Top Producing Sires and Dams, and 4 Grand Champions. In addition, there are 3 Canadian champions, 2 Japanese Champions and 1 international champion. We also have dogs serving as livestock guardians for sheep, alpaca and pygmy goats. There are presently 8 dogs living at Pyrless.
